Hobie Sunglasses

We have a lot of friends who fish the B.A.S.S tournaments down south, and they put us on to Hobie sunglasses. They claimed that they could see into the water better and had less eye strain with these glasses than any other sunglasses – and they were right.

The main characteristic of Hobie’s is that they have precise polarized alignment. This means that the lenses are aligned with each other to cut out more sun glare. As walleye fisherman, there’s a simple test to see if your sunglasses are precisely aligned – look at your LCG fish finder. If you see your screen black out in direct sunlight or when viewing the screen at an angle – you need Hobie’s.

For shallow water jigging (to see weed and rocks), for navigation (when running near shallow water) and for eye protection (the sun will hurt your eyes) check out a pair of Hobie’s. A small tip though – since they cost more than regular sunglasses, invest in a “Chum” (the strap that holds them on your head). Hobie’s won’t do you any good sinking to the bottom after being blown off while speeding across the lake.
